Disaster Management is the creation of the plans or through which communities reduce vulnerability to hazards & cope with disaster. Disaster Management Plan is prepared from guidelines received from Disaster management cell under respective municipal corporation which will be helpful to residents in case of disasters. It shall advice role players how to lead in case of disaster to prevent or to at least mitigate negative impacts and same shall be updated based on practical experience and /or actual site requirements.

Disaster is a sudden, calamitous event bringing great damage, loss, and destruction and devastation to life and property. The damage caused by disasters is immeasurable and varies with the geographical location, climate and the type of the earth surface/degree of vulnerability. This influences the mental, socio-economic, political and cultural state of the affected area.

All these hazards could occur at different time period. They could vary seasonally, especially natural hazards like flood and cyclone. Manmade hazards could occur at any time of the year. Similarly, earthquake and tsunami could occur at any time of the year, depending on climatic conditions. A vulnerability mapping for different disasters is presented in Table 1.1.

DTH service provides different language channels in the country. The most significant aspect of DTH broadcast is its digital quality, fail-proof communication.

Apart from the DTH service of PrasarBharati (PB), private broadcasters like Dish TV and Tata Sky also provide services on different television channels all over the country. Thus developer would install such kind of booster device on terrace for proper communication for whole communities. It provides a new and potentially revolutionary option for the rapid, automatic and global dissemination of disaster information. In the most critical phase of natural disasters, electronic communication has provided the most effective, and in some instances perhaps the only means of communication with the outside world. he Principal Secretary of the Education Department provides important guidance as a Chairman of the working committee of the Board. The Chairman of the State Examination Board plays the role of the member secretary of both the committees. The State Examination Board administers various 24 open examinations. The 13 members of this Board are appointed by the Gujarat Government. Apart from this, administrative committees are formed to be helpful in managing different examinations.

Under the umbrella of GCERT, there are now 27 DIETs (District Institute of Education and Training) functional in 33 Districts. These DIETs impart pre-service and in-service training to the primary teachers of the State. There are seven branches namely Pre-service Teacher Education (PSTE), Work Experience (WE), District Resource Unit (DRU), Curriculum Material Development & Evaluation (CMDE), Educational Technology (ET), In-service Field interaction Innovation & Co-ordination (IFIC) and Planning & Management PM functioning in these DIETs.

These DIETs are well equipped with qualified and experienced academic and administrative staff.
